A Concept Becomes a RealityLovatt and Ricketts Saddles

The Arabian Saddle Company® first undertakings were to produce a saddle tree for each discipline taking into account the configuration of the Arabians back and then make proto-types on these trees for testing by Arabian horse owners. Our first foray into this was to concentrate on our Endurance saddle, the simple logic being that if we could make a horse and rider comfortable after hours of riding and in some cases 100 miles in a day, you have a sound platform for a range of saddles. Almost three decades have been spent, firstly defining the requirements of this range of saddles. With the assistance and cooperation of Arabian horse owners worldwide, they advised and tested prototype models until we were absolutely certain we had produced a range of saddles, which included all of the features required.

For thirty years we have been speaking to and visiting Arabian owners and breeders, professional and amateurs alike, in Europe, Scandinavia, The Middle East, USA, Canada, Central and South America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan and Korea. We now have many thousand riders on every continent using our saddles.

lovatt and ricketts factoryAll of the Arabian Saddles illustrated on this site are produced by our parent company Lovatt & Ricketts Saddles® in the historic town of Walsall England. The town of Walsall has been the center of English saddle making for centuries, it is this wealth of Experience that we are able to produce a work of art in leather that will give many years of pleasure and enjoyment to the owner. Each and every one of our saddles are hand made by individual craftsmen; not mass produced on a production line. We pride ourselves in using only traditional natural materials sourced in the UK wherever we can.

Dubai SaddlesOur saddle trees are produced in our own saddle tree department built by hand using laminated Birch wood, and then reinforced with steel for strength and durability. All of our leather is premium grade English or European hide, tanned and curried as it has been for generations, then hand finished to achieve a look and feel synonymous with quality the world over. As the proud owner of a Lovatt & Ricketts® saddle you will have bought an investment that will turn into a treasured heirloom.
